Happy birthday
Exactly one year ago, Wonsys was incorporated and so far, it’s been a great ride.
We had to make some tough decisions during this first 12 months, and had to change a few of our plans, too, but everything turned out to be fine.
We started with the idea to build only our own apps — which we did –, but a few months into it, we saw the opportunity and decided to move into consulting for external clients, too.
We had a good amount of experience building and running Web applications written in Ruby on Rails, so we’d always received a lot of proposals, but had to turn them down because we were so focused on our own projects.
After a few months, we realized there was no need to turn them down: we could split our time and work on both our projects and external projects. And you know, doing some client work is always a good way to ensure some stability — provided you’re able to find clients when you need them. ;)
BTW, we’re not code monkeys: before we sign a contract, we always make sure we are engaged in the whole process, so that we can work along with the client to make the application better.
It’s very easy to find someone who can build what you want, but most of the time what you want is not exactly the best way to approach a problem, so it’s very important to have a team who is not afraid to tell you something is not feasible from a technical standpoint.
A big thank you goes to all the people using our services and, last but not the least, our clients, whom trust in our skills has been a great motivation to work even harder.
Right now we’re working with a few clients, while we evaluate ideas for new projects we’d like to build in the near future, so keep an eye around here to know what we’re doing.
P.S.
